J.B, Graduate Student, NZ This is the Campus Bus-Stop. By using their ID Card, University students can catch the bus home (or to town) for free. An attempt to make people more environmentally concious, and economically sound (petrol prices keep soaring eh?). And I believe, it is working. However, there is nothing like a good walk, right? By foot, the journey to town from campus is about 45 minutes. Yes, I preferred to walk, or bike, to campus on a regular basis (at the time, I did not live too far away from campus, so I did not feel the need to drive, or wait for a bus). walking provided me with time to meditate on my papers, and other matters that could have (possibly) disrupted my studies - if I did not take the time out. Good regular exercise, push play.

L.K, Seventh Day Adventist, NZ/Samoan For this photoblog I will do something a little different, I will add a poem. My friend here, LK, has nothing to do with the "person" in the poem; I think the picture works with well with the poem, so here we go. I used to dabble in poetry, but not anymore (don't enjoy writing poems any longer). I am aware that this new Theme11 is due Friday, but what can I say, I like handing in assignments early! So, here is my contribution to this theme, I'm kicking it off, please enjoy. The Girl In Front Of Me: Her eyes intense, and bright like the flame on a candle; her pupils widen with interest, trapping me in her fire. Her body language tells me what to misread, uncovering all to invite me near, urging for more. Her skin lightly tanned like a biscuit, baked to the right temperature. Her smell is the essence of vanilla, my tongue wets the lips with sugar. Our mutual attraction comes with the third glance, and that was my cue. She widened first, and I came in second. Her smile is the reason why poets write about meadows filled with flowers. Her touch is like a pair of gloves I never want to wear out. She brushes her hair back, looking well rehearsed. Her hair is the colour of Jamiacan rum chocolate, and all I imagine is how I would like to kiss her so? As we say whatever in a beautiful lie, I forget my line. I should have said, would you like to grab a cup of Moccachino sometime? © 2003 Raymond E Skux Isn't love grand? Thank you.

Today, for all New Zealanders, is Waitangi Day. The day where the English settlers signed a treaty with the Maori people, so all can aim for peace and equality together. Unfortunately, the day is often marred with "race riots" on both sides, and nothing is achieved in the name of unity and forgiveness. No one has mastered the art of listening, and compromise in its full sense. God save the Queen, and everyone else.
